Summary
Responsible for managing all functions of their engineering team. Able to perform engineering duties as necessary to ensure completion of projects on schedule. Must possess extensive knowledge of both substation design, engineering, and construction.
Responsibilities
- Supervise multiple project teams and ensure project progression.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external project personnel to ensure all stakeholders are informed
- Prepare project cost controls to ensure project remains on schedule and within budget
- Apply engineering standards to complete tasks such as ground grid design, relay coordination, transformer sizing, short circuit analysis, and load flow studies
- Work with project engineers and designers to ensure engineering standards are applied correctly including the NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE and ANSI
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- Min. 10 years’ experience in substation design
- Licensed Professional Engineer or ability to become licensed.
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of high voltage electrical substation components, their operation, and general layout, 138kV and above
- Extensive knowledge and ability to apply the correct engineering standards
- Ability to work independently and lead multiple design teams
- Extensive experience and understanding of substation design, through all phases of project development
