ELECTRICIANS AND TRAINEES

HOURS - 5/10's
DURATION - 6-8 MONTHS
REQUIRES A VALID TWIC CARD

Electrician Responsibilities:
 
Must be proficient in installing complete raceway systems utilizing any of the following types of raceways: rigid, aluminum, plasti-bond, and P.V.C. conduit; aluminum, galvanized steel, stainless steel, and fiberglass cable tray; terminating motors and motor controls and reading and interpreting electrical drawings and schematics.

Must be experienced in pulling wire and cable either by hand or utilizing mechanical/electrical pulling equipment in conduit and cable tray; installing and terminating transformers, buss duct, switchgear and motor control centers; utilizing electrical test equipment including Volt Ohm Meters, Amp Meters and Meggers; OSHA rules and regulations and National Electrical Code (NEC).

Ability to meet the cut score on the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) Written Skill Assessment and has a minimum of four (4) years craft specific field experience.

Trainee Responsibilities:

Must have knowledge of applicable safety rules; must be able to assist Journeyman and Craftsmen in the installation of rigid, aluminum, plasti-bond, and PVC conduit; must have the ability to use or willing to learn to use mechanical, electric, and hydraulic conduit benders; the ability to fabricate and install conduit supports; the ability to assist in the installation of cable tray and tube tray; the ability to install wire and cable by hand and by machine in cable tray and in conduit; the ability to assist in the installation of air pipe and instrument tubing; to utilize a variety of electric and hydraulic hand tools and pneumatic tools. 

Must be able to follow specific directions, work within the standards of accuracy, capable of maintaining proper housekeeping, and able to carry out work requirements of demolition, handling trash, and assisting in maintenance and construction.
