ISC Constructors, LLC, a privately held company, is an industrial electrical, instrumentation and controls company offering engineering, construction and maintenance services. Founded in 1989 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, we have grown to employ over 3,300 people primarily in the southern region of the United States.  Through our in Baton Rouge, Beaumont, Houston, and Lake Charles, we service the chemical processing, petrochemical, refining, power and pulp, and paper industries.

The QA/QC Coordinator position is responsible for a broad range of quality activities within the project. The QA/QC Coordinator will be required to perform and/or participate in audits or surveillance of ISC activities, subcontractors, suppliers, and sub-suppliers. The QA/QC Coordinator will be expected to become familiar with the project standards and project Quality Management System and assist the Project QA/QC Manager in performing day to day activities. The QA/QC Coordinator will be required to plan and implement work using independent, ethical judgment and prior experience in the quality area. The QA/QC Coordinator reports directly to the Project QA/QC Manager. In the event a QA/QC Manager/Coordinator is not assigned to the project, the QA/QC Inspector shall receive day to day direction from the Site/Project Manager.

DUTIES

  1. Perform planned audits and surveillance of execution activities to ensure compliance to Project requirements.
  2. Performing audits and surveillance of subcontractors, suppliers, and sub-suppliers, when required.
  3. Good knowledge of ISC Quality Program Manual and Site-Specific Quality procedures.
  4. Monitoring and reporting on the status of implementation of the Project Quality Management System and its effectiveness.
  5. Identifying and recording quality problems and opportunities for improvement, and initiating or recommending solutions.
  6. Interface with management and customer personnel as needed during the resolution of quality issues or during Customer audits.
  7. Assure that the contract obligations for testing and record keeping are adhered to.
  8. Control calibrated measuring and test equipment used on the project.
  9. Ensure proper turnover of complete quality control package(s). Responsible for ensuring that turnover documentation is maintained, organized and turned over on schedule.
  10. Work closely with other groups and support timely reviews of documents or issues requiring QA action.
  11. Attend any project required meetings.
  12. Facilitate project quality meetings when required
  13. Direct, evaluate, train QA/QC inspectors.

REQUIREMENTS

  1. Technical knowledge in the application of engineering, environmental, procurement, construction, inspection and testing sufficient to comprehend specified requirements is desired.
  2. Two (2) years QA/QC experience required in fabrication/testing/installation of E/I or in lieu of two (2) years QA/QC experience, a bachelor’s degree in Engineering and/or Construction discipline or equivalent is acceptable.
  3. Four (4) years related experience in E/I industrial work.
  4. Familiarity with industry codes and standards related to E/I installation and testing.
  5. Complete a training class on the current NFPA 70 NEC (National Electrical Code).
  6. Strong computer skills in Windows OS, Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  7. Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time.
  8. Ability to use arms and hands to reach for, handle or manipulate objects.
  9. Ability to climb up and down ladders, scaffolds and other objects while carrying tools and equipment.
  10. Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.
  11. Professional demeanor coupled with the ability to organize and prioritize a fast-paced ever-changing scope of work.
