The Position:

We have a position available for a General Foreman in the Columbus, Ohio area who possesses a wide variety of abilities to complement our experienced workforce. This position is expected to meet established goals and objectives by safely completing work assignments that are planned, organized, and analyzed for optimum results. The duties and meetings outlined below are of a minimal standard and subject to change between job locations and/or management’s request. Applicants should have the ability to:

  • Responsible for the work crew's safety and ensuring the crew successfully completes their specific job tasks.
  • Responsible for maintaining a good attitude and utilizing communication skills to work with other personalities on the project, in the company, and with the client.
  • Responsible for promptly reporting all injuries and incidents to the Supervisor.
  • Responsible for correcting, then reporting, any unacceptable behavior or actions by associates in the crew to the Supervisor.
  • Responsible for storage and upkeep of material inventory, ISC tools, and equipment.
  • Responsible for properly maintaining both company and/or 3rd party vehicles, equipment, and tools.
  • Responsible for oversight of all duties of the General Foreman.
  • Responsible for project safety as described in the ISC Safety Manual.
  • Inspects installed work for quality and conformance and takes corrective action if necessary.
  • Audits Foremen and crews for safety issues and takes corrective action if necessary. Also, completes and turns in to safety department a minimum of one (1) job audit per week.
  • Develops and maintains positive work environment between Foremen and crews.
  • Identifies potential problems with field installations and proposes solutions.
  • Responsible for initiating and management of any subcontract if required.
  • Assists in any incident investigation as it relates to your project.

Qualifications:

  • Capable of supervising large work area (more than twenty-five people) or multiple crews.
  • Capable of laying out the work for their crews (conduit routing and equipment location).
  • Capable of interpreting prints and details.
  • Capable of completing field evaluations on all associates on the crew, reporting findings to the Supervisor, and reviewing the evaluation with the associate.
  • Integrity in dealings with other associates and clients.
  • Ability to work with diverse workforce in the department and company.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and technical translation.
  • General knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Completes an approved safety course.
  • Strong personal character that exhibits dependability, willingness to work overtime, presentable dress and appearance, willingness to listen and learn, and attention to detail.

Prerequisites:

  • Minimum of eight (6) years in the Electrical industry and four (2) years in supervision.
  • Achieves the cut score on the NCCER test and successful completion of the performance verification.
  • Ability to pass a post-offer, pre-employment, drug/alcohol test and applicable background checks.
  • Must be trained in Electrical Safe Work Practices, including NFPA 70E Flash Hazard Training.
  • Maintains a current First Aid/CPR certification
  • High ethical standards – unwilling to compromise on worker safety and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Must complete NCCER’s Fundamentals of Crew Leadership training within one (1) calendar year.
  • Integrity in dealings with other associates and clients
  • Ability to work with other personalities in the department and company.
  • Reasonable ability to read drawings and interpret specifications and contract
    language.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and technical translation.
